What am I looking at?
Block height is how many blocks have been mined since genesis. Each new block is roughly every 10 minutes.
Difficulty retargets every 2,016 blocks so average block time stays ~10 minutes as hashrate rises or falls.
Mempool is the waiting room for unconfirmed transactions. Bigger backlog usually means higher fees.
Fees are a market bid for block space — not a fixed “shipping” rate.
Educational snapshot for Bitcoin Basics. Not financial advice. Numbers from the public Mempool REST API. Mempool fees in backlog ≈ 0.065 BTC.
